The Ridge Alabama
The Ridge Outdoor Adventure Park is a 400-acre off-road complex in St. Clair County, Alabama, approximately 30 miles northeast of Birmingham via I-20 and US-431. The park's position puts it within an hour of the state's largest metro area, making it a practical day-trip destination for the Birmingham-Gadsden-Anniston corridor. The trail system covers 35+ miles of rated one-way ATV and UTV routes and 15 miles of dedicated motorcycle single-track, a dual-network design that gives each vehicle class appropriate terrain without forcing shared corridors between machines with incompatible speed and width profiles. Beyond riding, The Ridge operates a genuinely diversified adventure platform: a motocross track and a pee-wee track for competitive or practice riding, mud bogs and hill climbs for the event crowd, zip lining and rappelling for non-riding guests, disc golf, a fishing pond, and ATV/UTV rentals for visitors who arrive without machines. ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes are permitted on appropriate routes; full-size 4WD vehicles are not permitted. A $5/year membership is required before the daily rider fee of $20 applies. A seasonal closure note: the park closes from approximately late July through the end of August during the hottest part of the Alabama summer. Operating hours are Friday through Sunday, 9am–6pm (9am–5pm in winter); closed Monday through Thursday (205-467-7433).
